The afternoon will involve some stillness and silence, listening to poetry, being attentive to the world around us, writing poetry and sharing insights and experiences.

There are many biblical texts that use poetic forms, and others that are ‘poetic’ in their content and language. Poetry cultivates the art of paying attention, it slows us down and helps us to listen deeply to the world around us, to ourselves and to God. Poetry attends to ‘the words under the words’ and rather than eliminating life’s contradictions and paradoxes, it helps us to inhabit and integrate these.
You do not need to be a poet or budding poet to be part of this session! Our focus is process not product and discovering how this can deepen our relationship with God and be an encouragement to one another.
